Some of the stuff that'll be up here soon:
Akatsuki portraits
Zombie sketch-dump
More Grendel's Revenge character sketches (for the maybe five or so visitors reading this that would care
Various random fan-art
I'm rather pleased with how the Akatsuki sketches have turned out, but they just aren't quite ready for upload yet; also, the zombie sketch-dump could use more zombie.
Depending on how long it takes me to finish any of this stuff, I may upload some super old doodles in the meantime just for the sake of getting some more art-ishness in my gallery to look at. As always, feedback is greatly encouraged for what's in there already
ALSO (because I would rather stick it here than make a new journal entry)
I tagged myself in
1)Bunnies
Interesting critters. They're absurdly cute-- which also makes them somewhat creepy in a way...kinda like children. (However, UNLIKE children, they're quiet and no one has a problem with you keeping them in a cage.)
2)Dinosaurs
Dinosaurs have a very special place in my nerdy little heart. They were my scientific first-love, and as a young child I had declared that I would one day grow up to be a paleontologist. Well, I grew up...and as it turns out I really don't have the patience to spend hours dusting bones with a tiny brush; plus, my interest has shifted to the study of creatures that are still around today (and were around back then for that matter): bugs!
3)Games
I've always loved videogames. Unfortunately, I've been kinda out-of-the-loop ever since the next-gen consoles came out, seeing as how I can't afford any of them and wouldn't have time to play them anyway these days. And then there are pencil and paper RPGs: like Dungeons and Dragons (3.5 ed), White Wolf games (2nd or 3rd edition, not the new crap), etc. as well as online, text-based RPGs. It's so much fun to create a persona from scratch and then to let them loose-- their actions and interactions shaping an ongoing storyline. These games have given me so many great memories and allowed me to meet so many great people
4)Photos
Hmm, what to say about this...Generally, I'm not all that into photography; its not for lack of respect for the art-form, but for rarely being really impressed. Whereas with other forms of art (drawing, painting, sculpture, music, etc.) it's all about the artist creating his/her own aesthetic-- the photographer does not create, but rather he/she must seek out and capture the aesthetically profound already in existence, but in places and moments that would otherwise have gone unnoticed. In other words, a truly talented photographer must possess a startling degree of insight, demonstrated by capturing and presenting the things that are brilliant about our own reality, rather than forming pieces of a new one. I don't see that often. That's how I feel about it, anyway...ah, I'm ranting-- next word!
5)Celebrity (specifically: famous artists)
I'm not exactly sure why that would come to mind, aside from perhaps my response for "favorite artist" on my profile thingy. I put Brom and H.R. Giger in there when I first made the account, because they were my favorites artists at the time and the ones I was most familiar with; but while I'm still a *huge* fan of them both, I've seen so many other great artists since joining DA that it's really hard to limit my favorites to just one or two x_x
